Privacy & Data Sovereignty
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026 · Last Revised: August 2026
At Scansion Tool (scansiontool.com), your privacy and intellectual property sovereignty are foundational principles of our software engineering. We believe that poets, students, researchers, and educators should have complete confidence that their creative manuscripts, private drafts, and student assignments remain strictly confidential.
1. 100% Client-Side In-Browser Execution
Unlike cloud-based linguistic processors, automated writing assistants, or generative AI platforms that transmit your text to remote server farms, Scansion Tool operates on a 100% client-side web architecture.
When you paste, type, or edit a poem in any of our 15 analytical tools (including the Poetry Meter Checker, Rhyme Scheme Generator, Latin Scansion Tool, Sonnet Checker, Haiku Validator, and Poem Analyzer), the entire computational execution occurs exclusively within your device's local web browser (using WebAssembly and compiled JavaScript).
Immutable Technical Guarantee: Your poem text is never sent across the internet, never uploaded to a backend server, never recorded in server logs, and never stored in any cloud database. All operations execute strictly within client memory (RAM) and disappear when you close your tab.
2. Zero Collection of User Poetry & Literary Manuscripts
We maintain a strict zero-retention policy regarding user-generated content:
- No AI Model Training: We never utilize your poetry, creative drafts, or translation exercises to train or fine-tune machine learning or AI models.
- No Content Scraping: We do not log, index, or index-search user inputs.
- No Account Profiling: We do not require user accounts, logins, passwords, or personal identity verification to access any tool or guide.
- No Metadata Tracking: We do not extract document author names, creation timestamps, or linguistic profiles from your text.
3. Local Browser Storage & Cache
To provide convenience during active writing sessions, certain tools may temporarily store your working text or display preferences in your browser's local sandbox memory (such as HTML5 localStorage or sessionStorage). This data resides solely on your physical device and can be cleared at any time simply by clearing your web browser cookies and site data.
Our website does not access or inspect any other local files, folders, or browser storage keys belonging to other websites.
4. Cookies & Aggregate Technical Telemetry
Scansion Tool does not use intrusive third-party cross-site advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or data brokerage beacons. We may gather minimal, privacy-preserving, anonymized aggregate telemetry (such as total page visits, country-level geographic counts, and browser type) solely to ensure site reliability, diagnose server performance, and optimize device compatibility.
These technical metrics do not contain IP addresses, names, emails, or poetic text, and cannot be linked back to individual users.
5. Compliance with Global Privacy Regulations (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Because Scansion Tool does not collect, store, or sell Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or user poetry:
• European Union (GDPR)
We adhere strictly to principles of data minimization and privacy-by-design under Articles 5 and 25 of the General Data Protection Regulation. No personal data transfers occur across international borders.
• California (CCPA / CPRA)
We do not 'sell' or 'share' personal consumer information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we do not maintain consumer profiles.
6. Children's Online Privacy & Classroom Safety (COPPA)
Scansion Tool is widely used in K-12 English, Latin, and literature classrooms. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly solicit, collect, or retain personal information from children under the age of 13. Teachers and educators can safely deploy our worksheets and scansion tools in student learning environments without privacy risks.
7. Static Hosting & Security Infrastructure
Our website assets (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and fonts) are delivered over secure, encrypted HTTPS channels utilizing modern Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3). Static assets are served via high-performance, globally distributed Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) that enforce standard security headers, Content Security Policies (CSP), and DDoS mitigation.
